Software turned running the job into administering it
On a representative $20M project, a project manager may track 200 to 300 live items at once: change orders, submittals, RFIs, and subcontractor negotiations. Construction can look like the wrong place to expect this because the trades are physical work no model can perform. But much of a PM’s day sits in information-heavy work where AI capability is high: management, finance, contracts, and engineering coordination.
The limiting factor is not only model capability; it is project context. Without the project record, a model may fill missing information with a plausible but unsupported answer. In construction, that is unacceptable.
When the model can retrieve the contract, drawings, logs, email, and schedule, it can answer from project evidence rather than general patterns. Context does not eliminate error, but it makes answers reviewable and materially more reliable. Turning that capability into project performance takes three moves:
- Memory: connect the project record into queryable memory so email, letters, drawings, logs, and specifications can be read together.
- Context: ground every answer in the live project record, each claim traceable to the document it came from.
- Workflow: put the grounded intelligence into the work itself, answering, triaging, drafting, flagging, rather than leaving it in a chat window on the side.
Together, these three moves turn model capability into usable project performance.

Project Intelligence reads the whole job and works from it
Project Intelligence reads across the systems and records the firm already uses. Where a general-purpose model lacks project context, Vec works from the connected project record. Each day, it:
- Prepares a morning brief on recent changes and what needs attention first.
- Holds the live state of the job, bringing open items and their next moves into one current view.
- Triages the email inbox, surfacing the most important correspondence and helping to clear it.
- Answers project questions from the connected record, bringing related correspondence and source material into view.
- Drafts RFIs, submittals, and correspondence for the PM to send, with every claim cited to its source.
Project Intelligence works read-only against systems of record. It prepares and drafts; the PM decides what gets sent. Every claim cites its source: open the citation and the underlying record appears, and if a claim cannot be traced, it does not ship. Project data is not retained by the model or used to train one, and Canadian residency is maintained.
Workshops support deep project work. The PM can bring Vec an RFI to answer, a change to price, or a contract clause to review. Vec works through the task against the contract and project record, then prepares a cited draft for PM review.
Workshops prepare documents in the formats project teams already use: levelling sheets in Excel, notice letters on letterhead, Outlook replies, and meeting minutes in Word. Each draft is grounded in the record and held for PM review.
Together, these capabilities give the PM a current view of the job: priorities, live state, drafts, and cited answers. With more of the record-heavy load carried, the PM can spend more time on judgement and foresight.

I built this because I have run both sides of it
I spent years managing construction projects across Canada, for GCs and as an owner-side PM: labs, fit-outs, hospitals, schools, high-rises, complex renovations, and mission-critical infrastructure. I also built and led a 14-person financial infrastructure software company and led its firm-wide AI implementation.
